Privacy Policy

La Chef Meals (“we”, “us”) prepares and delivers meals in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire. This policy explains what information we collect when you use this website and place an order, how we use it and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Order details you give us: your name, email, phone number, delivery address, delivery day and the meals you order.
  • Payment information: card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure payment form and processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Messages: anything you send us by email or WhatsApp.
  • Your cart: the items in your cart are saved in your own browser (local storage) so they're still there when you come back. This stays on your device.

How we use it

  • To prepare, deliver and charge for your order.
  • To send order confirmations and contact you about your delivery.
  • To answer your questions and handle cancellations, changes and refunds.
  • To keep records required for accounting and taxes.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising. We only email you about your orders; we'll ask first before sending anything else.

Who we share it with

We share only what's needed with the services that help us run the business:

  • Stripe, to process payments and prevent fraud.
  • An email delivery service, to send order emails.
  • Our hosting and database providers, which run this website and securely store order records and their backups.

We may also disclose information when required by law.

Cookies

We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. Stripe's payment form may set cookies needed to process payments securely and prevent fraud.

How long we keep it

  • Order and payment records (your name, contact details, address and what you ordered): kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require (generally up to 7 years), then deleted.
  • Backups: each daily backup is deleted automatically after 30 days.
  • Your cart: stays in your browser until you complete your order or clear it.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us. Some records may need to be kept for legal or accounting reasons. Once deleted, your information also disappears from our backups within 30 days.

Children

This website is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
